As I was a mom with one child with me, and other babies within the cradle was working 12 hour shifts cleaning floors and tear off wallpaper. Ha! The whole thing was beginning to take shape, however we weren't anywhere near finished. For furnishing the space would be a huge effort both in budget and time. I would also have go to my favorite stores. In order to keep my budget in good shape, I went out with my three boys in search for bargains in estate sales. We used to go on a weekly basis of walking around auctions and garage sales on Sundays and Saturdays and purchase a range of furniture, both new and old made. It was my job to spend the day at the end of the driveway, painting or sanding. It was a bit like this... That's where my passion for restoring furniture began. Even after our house was finished, I didn't want to quit! There was a place at the local markets in which I sold my pieces. Then, I ran out of numerous pieces of furniture to fit into the space available. I held open houses at my house where 1 thousand people would visit over a weekend, and the visitors were able to purchase items on the first floor. Growing Days is the result of all this. My company was flourishing and my family was also growing. The balance was between starting a business and becoming a mother. Growing Days was the obvious decision. In 2013, my lovely daughter Nora joined our 4th baby. While I was pleased about the direction my company went, I was feeling like I was in need of an occasional break. I decided to put off doing work on my furniture for a while and stay home with the children. It was exactly the thing I needed. After a few minutes, my phone began ringing. A lot of people contacted me seeking advice about home improvement or decorating. Most of these people were people who had been through my house during furniture open houses! It wasn't long before I was managing a full-scale business for home improvement. It began with taking clients on one with a speed I could be at ease with. When I first heard about my business in home renovation I laughed. When I look back, it makes me smile.
